It's a nice place with very good selection of cultural events going on. The staff is amazing as well :)
Although located within the Swansea University main campus, Taliesin gets put to good and varied community use, with ample, free, on-site parking. As a theatre, it is well equipped and offers a setup that many larger theatres would envy. The Egyptology museum in the same building is one of Swansea’s hidden gems. This place is well worth considering for smaller gigs/shows. If there is a downside, it is that the bar area is a little small for the size of the venue and, therefore, can get quite crowded on a well-attended event.
We went to see Emma Kenny, who was amazing. The lady on the door was fantastic and extremely helpful and friendly. I have to say, they are the comfiest seats ever in a theatre. Can't wait to go again.
Very disappointed in the venue, it really was not to standard, the seats were old, damaged, and not fitted correctly so constantly moved as other people moved, the place stank of alcohol, had no heating so for an evening show in December it was very cold in the theatre, felt that the venue really was not fit for purpose, the toilets were over crowded and dirty, smelly, the entrance area was crowded with not enough seating, what seating was there was old and tired, so really it needs money spent on bringing it to a decent standard, overall the show we went to see was very good, but the show was nothing to do with the venue, and the venue really let the show down, the venue is more like a student bar that no one cares enough about to look after it properly, would we vist again I
Recently renovated, offers very flexible seating spaces, regular theatre productions and simply the best carvery. A whole host of cafe style foods and drinks with bigger dishes for biggest appetites. The cafe section is begining to look dated following a major refit in the rest of the building.
Really nice theatre. Easy parking. Only two complaints: cash is not allowed..BIG black mark
..and no coffee available at the bar on a Sunday morning.
Superb venue, very good acoustics and many amenities, car park and cafe, restaurant. Arts at its best
Nice theatre, but some seating unsuitable for people with poor mobility as no rails to hold on to and seats too low
